Alysa MacLaughlin is a passionate and dedicated volleyball coach who graduated from West Chester University in 2022 with a degree in Business and two minors in Business Law and Human Resources. Although she initially started coaching at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West as a fun side gig, she quickly fell back in love with the sport and the opportunity to teach players how to love it as well.
With years of coaching experience under her belt, Alysa has a proven track record of helping players develop their skills and passion for the game. She has served as an assistant coach for both 7th and 8th grade at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West and has also coached club teams ages 13-15. In fact, she even took on the role of head coach for a 14s team halfway through the season. In addition to her work with middle school and club teams, Alysa has also coached skill classes and clinics for ages 12-18 and has worked at summer camps for various age groups.
In addition to her coaching experience, Alysa also has an impressive player profile. She played volleyball at Perkiomen Valley High School, starting on the junior varsity team before moving up to varsity as a middle and right side player. Her high school team even made it to the state championships where they competed against Parkland High School. Alysa also played for several club teams, most notably under current Synergy coaches, as a middle player. In college, she continued to play recreationally as an outside and back row player and even served as team captain for two years.
With her extensive experience and love for the game, Alysa is a valuable asset to any team she coaches. She is dedicated to helping players reach their full potential and instilling a love for volleyball in each and every one of them.
