On December 28th, 2024, Synergy will be hosting a clinic featuring William Paterson University Head Coach Kevin Rodgers. The clinic will be from 9:00am-12:00pm. The clinic will be capped at the first 72 players, and will take place on four courts. The clinic is open to ages 14 and up, and will introduce Synergy players to various College volleyball coaches (listed below), and give insight into the world of college volleyball and recruiting. During this clinic, you’ll have the opportunity to work with several successful collegiate coaches that will run drills that help their players grow to their max potential. The first part of the clinic will be positional training with multiple coaches and then we’ll ease in to playing 6v6 where the focus will be using the new skills you learned in a real game-like scenario. After that, we’ll have a 30 minute Q&A where you can ask questions to all the coaches. Kevin Rodgers has been a successful head coach at the NCAA Women’s Division 1, 2 and 3 levels. He also coached for seven years as a well accomplished men’s collegiate coach. In the last five years, he has earned his conferences Coach of the Year award three times. He brought a conference championship to East Stroudsburg (DII) in 2019 for the first time in 32 years and did the same thing at William Paterson University (DIII) for the first time in 33 years during the 2024 season. Both of those schools earned the right to compete in the NCAA tournament, snapping a multiple decade drought. Coach Rodgers has also coached multiple All-Americans and over 40 All-Conference players in his 15 year career. Rodgers has coached at the collegiate level since 2009 at NJCU (men’s and women’s), Ramapo College (men’s), FDU-Madison, FDU-Metro, Bucknell, East Stroudsburg and William Paterson. During his career he has amassed over 200 wins as a head coach. He has coached at high academic, public and private universities. During the Q&A portion of the clinic, he’ll articulate the differences between the variousinstitutions that he has coached at and discuss how to get recruited to a university that fits your athletic and academic needs.
